Spicy Beef and Bean Burger Recipe

 

Serves 4

Recipe Ingredients:

 

1 pound of lean ground beef (93% lean or leaner)

1 teaspoon hot sauce

1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon ancho chili powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dry mustard

1 teaspoon cumin

1 pinch of red pepper flakes (optional if you like it spicy)

1/2 can of black beans (14oz can), drained and rinsed

4 whole wheat hamburger rolls, toasted

4 slices reduced fat white american cheese

 

Directions:

 

1. In a large bowl mix the beef, rinsed black beans, hot sauce, worcestershire, chili powder, paprika, dry mustard, cumin, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Then form into 4 hamburger patties.

2. Heat a grill pan and spray with cooking spray. Then cook the burgers 4 minutes per side and add cheese when 1 minute of cooking time is remaining.

3. To serve place the hamburger patties on a whole wheat roll and top with any burger toppings you enjoy such as lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles...
